Welcome to cerebral. We bring you the big scoop each and every day from the AI verse. Today it's all about Google.

The Big Scoop 🍦

Microsoft is still ahead of the competition in the AI wars. A few days ago Satya Nadella announced the release of a new version of Bing and Edge to compete with the Great Slacker, Google. Till this day Google still keeps making announcements about Lambda but it still hasnt shipped.

Microsoft has created an awesome interface for Bing. There's the normal page and the a sidebar with the chat feature kind of like ChatGPT.

Yesterday we saw Google also bring launch it own rival in Paris. It's called BARD and its powered by their LAMBDA model. We wil explain more about what LAMBDA is in another edition of this newsletter. Here's the link if you want to watch it yourself.

Here are a few things that the Google staff talked about:

  1. Google Translate is adding more and more languages thanks to AI.

  2. Google Search is gonna use a combination of modalities. Not just images, sight and text but a combination of all of them

  3. They're introducing BARD, which will be intergrated into Google search to give answers more specific answers and aid in Google search.

  4. Google Maps is gonna be more immersive and use Augmented reality.

To be honest we all just wanted to hear about BARD but they didn't dwell much on that. It was frustrating. They talked about all the things we didn't really want but did not really concentrate on the real biz we wanted. BARD is nice but we wanted to hear more about it.

P.S. Bard made an error during the presentation and the stock crashed.

That's the big scoop for today.
